Ron Nelson has been in the commercial real estate business as a full time broker since January of 1986. After 12 years with the Dunham Company, in September of 1997 Ron merged his commercial operation with Bender Commercial. In July 2007 he formed Nelson Commercial Real Estate. Ron has sold or acquired for clients real estate in excess of $100 million, placed over 250 retail sites, leased over 2 million square feet and solved many ‘problems’ through innovation and creativity.
Past consulting projects have included shopping center developments, redevelopments and creation. Ron’s diversified background has included the sale of manufacturing plants and numerous businesses, structuring housing development sites, and teaming up with national and international real estate firms on projects. Ron does multi state work for clients in the areas of site selection & acquisition, disposition and consulting. At any given time Ron will be retained by multiple national companies as their site selection or surplus space disposition consultant in a multi- state area.

Ron does consulting for high net worth investors and advises to property owners on valuation and optimal timing for sale. Ron consults often for institutional investors and frequently teams up on projects with the worlds largest real estate firms. Ron works with multiple investment property types for both acquisition and disposition
Active in the community..active in the industry. Ron is a frequent speaker for ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) www.icsc.org , served on the multi-state board for CCIM www.ccim.com . He is the past president of Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota, immediate past president of The South Eastern Development Corporation and active in church and youth activities.
